Table toppers Bashundhara Kings continued their winning in the ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League when they celebrated a vast 5-0 win over Chittagong Abahoni Limited at the Bir. Fl. Lt. Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Friday.
Enlighten forward Rakib Hossain scored a brace to help Bashundhara tasting ninth victory in 11 games while Brazilian hitman Dorielton Gomez, his compatriot Robson Robinho and Uzbek midfielder Asror Gafurov scored one apiece.
Bashundhara Kings took 4-0 lead in the first half, thanks to an early strike by Dorielton in the second minute of the game following a nice through pass from Rimon Hossain. Robson doubled the lead scoring from the spot just 10 minutes later after Chittagong Abahoni defender Rayhan Hasan saw a ball hit his hand in side the box.
Rakib made it 3-0 in the 19th minute while Gafurov joined the goal fest in the added time of the first half. Rakib, the man of the match of this game, scored his seventh goal of the league in the 53rd minute to confirm another big victory for his side.
Kings, who began the second phase of the league with huge 7-1 win against Brothers Union, led the points table with 28 points whiel Chittagong Abahani went into the ninth position with 10 points from same number of outings.
