Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited returned to the winning way with a vast 4-0 win over Fortis Football Club in the first match of the second phase of ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League at the Rofiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensing on Friday.

Uzbekistan midfielder Muzaffarjon Muzaffaraf gave Mohammedan the lead in the 41st minute while Souleymane Diabate of Male doubled the lead in the added time of first converting from the spot. Jafar Iqbal and Sahariar Emon joined the goal fest in the 53rd and 59th minute respectively to present a huge defeat to Fortis.

Earlier in the first meeting of the league, Mohammedan registered a 2-1 win at the home ground of Fortis FC in Rajshahi.

Mohammedan, who suffered three consecutive draw in the last three matches of the first half, reduced the gap with the table toppers Bashundhara Kings. Mohammedan are in the second position with 20 points, two points behind Kings who will begin their second phase against Brothers Union in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Fortis, on the other hand, went into the sixth position with their previous earning of 12 points from same number of outings.
